Framed Fine Art Print of Mount Olympus from the Overland Track (May 2019)
A couple of hours into the hike on the last day, the forest came to an abrupt end, and across the open plains sparsely dotted with trees, Mt Olympus rose majestically in the distance. The landscape along the Overland Track had been carved by glaciers over a series of ice ages that ended as recently as 12,000 years ago. During that period, only the very top of the peaks we see today would have been exposed, and the rest of the terrain would have been under hundreds of meters of ice, including much of what is today the Overland Track. More on the spectacular walk here.
